Founded by Bernard Dillée in 1925 and then taken over by his son Jean-Pierrre, Cabinet Dillée isCabinet-Dillée-Ventes now managed by Guillaume Dillée, Expert to the Paris Court of appeal.

Today our consultancy is made up of two specialists in the valuation of furniture and 17th, 18th and 19th century art objects, an art historian researcher and archivist as well as a coordinator who manages all the documentation and sales catalogues.

The role of an expert is to identify, authenticate and estimate the value of a work of art.

In the context of public sales, the expert helps the auctioneer by valuing the lots up for sale. They also write the catalogue and guarantee the authenticity of the items on offer.

Our commitments

The purchase, sale, distribution, replacement or conservation of furniture and art objects requires a thorough knowledge of their authenticity and value. Only a specialised expert is able to determine the particularity of a work of art and its rating whilst at the same time guaranteeing its period of origin.

Cabinet Dillée assumes its responsibility in accordance with the rules applicable to public sales and to non-public sale transactions.

Guillaume Dillée is also an assessor with the French Conciliation and Customs Valuation Commission.

Cabinet Dillée collaborates with other affiliated specialists to provide expertise across all art-related fields.

For public auctions, the expert guarantee covers a period of five years from the auction sale or valuation.

Our consultancy works with independent experts in other specialist areas in order to provide you will a comprehensive valuation service, whatever the work of art’s origin.

Guillaume-DilléeGuillaume Dillée is a member of the French Syndicate for professional artwork experts.

After studying art history and spending over ten years training alongside his father, an expert to the High Court, Guillaume Dillée took over the management of the family consultancy. In 1996 he restructured the business with the development of a research and archiving division.
